Getting strange sections in the outline

I am seeing strange sections in the latex outline:

Some other details

• If I restart vscode they disappear and then reappear in other places.
• If I copy the same document to a different file and compile etc. I don't see these initially, but they appear later.
• I have tried incrementally adding details to the document, starting with a skeleton etc. - I think it might be connected to errors or warnings.
