As we can see in the zsh prompt, the cursor position and the right prompt is not in the right place when compared to powershell or fish shell. The cursor is far too right & the right prompt is far too left. This is also present when using the default ohmyposh prompt, as shown in the image above.

I have attached my prompt config & the zsh config down below. I have also attached the logs for ohmyposh.

@SwarabRaul something else is doing this. Can't reproduce with your or the default config.

Thanks for taking the time to confirm that. I also tried installing a different distro like Ubuntu and switching my shell to zsh, and it worked perfectly. So, I’ve narrowed the issue down to something specific with the WSL Arch Linux image, since no other distro or shell I tested had any problems.

I am also seeing this on the Arch distro. The default config has the behavior SwarabRaul describes, but once I changed it to my personal config, which has no right-aligned things, that issue went away. The only problem I have now is that when I hit tab to perform auto completions when there are multiple choices, it creates a similar problem.

My cursor is now further over, and the first cd and extra spaces are not really there. If I press delete a few times, I can only delete the further right cd, but then it stops. Despite it looking funny, the command is still correct. I know for sure this is not an issue until I enable oh-my-posh, as the behavior goes away if I comment out the oh-my-posh init.

I am just adding this as information for others to stumble upon since I found this issue in my search for a solution.
