VNDB support ?

What do you think of VNDB support ?
Couldn't push my own branch to the repo apparently so I forked the repo and starting doing stuff there: https://github.com/yvanoff/nanachan/tree/feat/vndb_support

Guess in this repo is the easy part and in the nanapi repo is where it's going to be fun

But I can see the code doesn't seem really designed for addition of an additional tracking service so I'm not sure what you think about it

Looks fine for the changes in this repo but yes you’d need to implement the API so it actually works.

For nanapi if you want search to work as well as for anime you’d want every VN (or at least a lot of them, but in this case it seems relatively easy to feed everything) in the database of nanapi. You can look at the anilist jobs for how we feed our database and meilisearch for that.

While VNDB seems to have a fairly nice API I think the search requirements makes it better to start from their votes or even near-complete dumps, and maybe later use their real-time API if we need to refresh more than once a day.

We certainly didn’t think much about it and I don’t know how much we can expect to merge with the existing anime/manga models or if it even makes sense in the first place. There’s maybe something to do with the characters model if you want to integrate it into waicolle but other than that it could just be separate models that just happen to look pretty similar to the anilist models.
