The Rewrite

Hi everyone I'm almost finished with this semester in college, I wanted to take some days to basically recode Alpaca!

I made a branch called recode that will not run for the time being.

The idea is to have every system be as independent from each other as much as possible, once I finished most systems I'll start connecting stuff together.

I'm also deleting old files to make it clearer. All the new stuff will be coded in window.py and the new src/widgets directory.

I already finished some files so you can go and check my code, I plan to actually write good code (believe it or not I can do that) now that I'm rewriting everything so any suggestions are welcomed.

Holy macaroni, that's incredibly nice to hear. Hope college is doing alright! 😊

As a side note, I'm not entirely sure if deleting files specialized to do one thing - and do it well - will improve clarity in the long term. window.py is already a HUUUGE mammoth 🦣 and moving more code in there could make it even bigger. Those are just my two cents though.

Am I right in believing that we should halt outside contributions until recode is merged into main? Otherwise, the merge conflicts could very well destroy everyone's mood.
