I also encountered the same problem.
The command I used is
"source ~/miniconda3/bin/activate
conda activate taxor
taxor search --index-file ./gtdb_k22-s12.hixf --query-file ./sample.clean.fastq --output-file./sample_01_taxor.txt --error-rate 0.1 --threads 32".
The error message indicates
"use syncmer model
Segmentation fault (core dumped)"

So, may I ask if you have any solutions to this problem?

I was getting the same error with the premade index, building a custom database worked for me.
