Current Information Handling Improvements

This document summarizes the improvements made to ensure the AI system proactively identifies time-sensitive queries and automatically executes web search tools to obtain current data.

1. Enhanced System Prompts

Improvements Made:

  • Added explicit behavioral controls to prevent hallucination
  • Enhanced instructions for handling time-sensitive information
  • Added guidelines prioritizing accuracy over speed for critical information
  • Included clear directives on when to use web search tools

Key Changes:

  • Added "BEHAVIORAL CONTROLS" section with anti-hallucination instructions
  • Added "IMPORTANT BEHAVIORAL GUIDELINES" to next step prompt
  • Emphasized never providing outdated information for time-sensitive queries
  • Clear directive to always verify current data through web search when in doubt

2. Improved Current Information Detection

Enhanced Keywords:

  • Expanded from 11 to 25 keywords for better coverage
  • Added time-related terms: "date", "moment", "presently", "currently", etc.
  • Added financial terms: "financial", "trading", "exchange"
  • Added pattern matching for "what is ... price/cost/rate" and "how much does ... cost"

Detection Logic:

  • Primary keyword matching
  • Secondary pattern matching for specific question formats
  • Improved accuracy for stock prices, weather, news, and financial queries

3. Enhanced Query Refinement

Smart Query Optimization:

  • Stock price queries: "current stock price [query]"
  • Weather queries: "current weather [query]"
  • News queries: "latest news [query]"
  • Date queries: "what is today's date"
  • General queries: "current [query]"

Benefits:

  • More targeted search results
  • Better handling of ambiguous queries
  • Increased result relevance

4. Web UI Improvements

Frontend-Level Detection:

  • Pre-check for current information queries before model processing
