To make the game run the same speed even with different FPS setups. The movement speed should be written in milliseconds instead of game ticks. This way we can have the same feel of speed if we would lower the FPS. This is also more inline with regular game engines.
The downside for our setup is that I play with the FPS to debug the game.
If I would lower the fps and the character then jumps worlds that would defeat the purpose.
That will bring two kind of FPS meters to the game which is confusing.
