Description
Thank you for this alternative keyboard, which is extremely useful.
My request:
XML files of the keyboard configurations should be accessible.
For example, an option to choose the folder where these files are stored.
Description of my usage:
I use it for different applications on multiple devices, and I have set up several customized keyboards on multiple devices for multiple applications.
I regularly customize my keyboards further and create new ones when needed with a new application; I switch between them using the "switch_forward" and "switch_backward" keys.
The problem:
It is very complicated to save, customize, import, and switch these keyboards by doing copy-paste in the settings of "Unexpected Keyboard."
It is also very difficult to synchronize them with other devices or to disable a certain keyboard when I don't need it, which makes switching between keyboards complicated since I have to scroll through all the keyboards.
The uses would then be:
- Save them,
- Share and synchronize them between my different devices,
- Switch them programmatically,
- Interact programmatically with them and modify them programmatically,
- Organize them, for example by creating libraries based on the current usage,
- Hence I would be able to create additional features myself without needing to ask to developers ; for example, I then could change the order of the keyboards, synchronize changes between devices, and so on.
Otherwise
In the case where it would be impossible to access these XML files, an import/export (backup/restore) option would be useful, especially if it would be programmatically launch-able, for example via Android exported activities
