BOT Scheduler

Would love to have a feature to be able to schedule when the bot runs so I don't have to pause it when I want to play a game. I put ASF on a Linux Server running 3 bots. Since I work during the day, and sleep at night, it would be nice to schedule one of the bots to run during those times, but turn itself off when I have time to play (5p - midnight). Other bots are for other accounts for other people (my kids) who have different schedules.

It's already possible. If you run it on linux server - you can easy add cron jobs to send requests to ASF via IPC. controlling it exactly the way you like.

That's not to say that interfacing with those existing schedulers isn't an option...just makes the process much easier for the user. As it stands right now, I have spent some time adding the service job in its entirety to cron. Now I am spending more time trying to learn how to send IPC commands. Then I have to disable the service job in cron and enable multiple IPC command jobs. Just taking a lot of time. There could be an ASF-ui interface that gives some options, then creates the IPC command and puts the entry in cron, simplifying it all in the same way that the ASF-ui simplifies the configuration and management of the server.

Let me understand your point about pausing the scheduler. Because when I open Steam to start a game, it gives a message that I already have a game open and it gives the option to kill it. Is that what you are talking about...that when I take the option to kill the game, ASF pauses the bot automatically and will restart it when I finish my game?

Exactly. There are some games that have buggy integration with steam, and they can have a problems when used like this, but in majority of cases it works just well.

And that's even harder than implementing scheduler from scratch, because this solution needs to be cross-platform. What to do if there is no cron, like, for example, when ASF is running on windows, or in some docker container that don't have cron included?

If everything (windows, docker container, ...) is accessible through SSH, you can deport the scheduling to ctfreak (I'm the author).
