[Kavita] double layout mode for epub reader (not 2 columns, but actual 2 page layout mode)

Idea Description

Most of the japanese children books uses images and get published in epub format. Without double page layout mode, the reader ends up showing only one part of the whole page.

2 columns mode doesn't solve this issue because actual page is only one and just contains half the picture of actual 2 page picture.

Are these just image books or do they contain text?

yeah. this one appears to be a picture book.... the image order is all over the place in comparison to the image numbering >.>

Yeah, japanese children books are almost always this way sadly :(

If they are image books, it might be advisable to use some tooling to extract the images and use the image reader. The epub reader does work for image only, but it's geared toward text.

https://github.com/bust4cap/epub2cbz this tool was shared with us last night. i sent your sample through it, it pulled all the images in the correct order, and renamed them so it would work correctly. like joe said using the image reader would be a much better experience as this would be a largely difficult ask to do for the epub reader, especially while we have a proper reader that already supports this. if you want to try it and let us know your experience we're thinking of adding this tool to our wiki as an option for converting epubs.
