Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

The maintainers and contributors of this project pledge to foster an open, welcoming, and harassment-free environment for everyone. We are committed to participation that is free from discrimination based on age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, caste, color, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to a healthy, diverse, and inclusive community.

Expected Behavior

Examples of behavior that helps create a positive environment:

  • Showing empathy, kindness, and patience toward others
  • Respecting differing opinions, viewpoints, and lived experiences
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Taking responsibility for mistakes, apologizing to those affected, and learning from the experience
  • Prioritizing what is best for the community as a whole, not just ourselves

Unacceptable Behavior

Examples of behavior that will not be tolerated:

  • Sexualized language, imagery, or unwelcome advances of any kind
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory remarks, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment in any form
  • Publishing another person's private information (such as a physical or email address) without their explicit permission
  • Sustained disruption of discussion, issues, pull requests, or community channels
  • Other conduct that a reasonable person would consider inappropriate in a professional setting

Maintainer Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing the standards of acceptable behavior. They will take fair and appropriate corrective action in response to any behavior they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, pull requests, and other contributions that do not align with this Code of Conduct. When appropriate, they will explain the reasoning behind their decisions.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces associated with the project — including the repository, issues, pull requests, discussions, chat channels, and any official social media — and also applies when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces.

Representation of the community includes using an official project email address, posting from an official account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event.

Reporting

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the maintainers by opening a confidential issue or contacting the repository owner directly through GitHub.

All reports will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. Maintainers are obligated to respect the privacy and safety of the reporter.

Enforcement Guidelines

Maintainers will follow these guidelines when determining the consequences of any action they deem to be in violation of this Code of Conduct.

1. Correction

Impact: Use of inappropriate language or behavior considered unprofessional or unwelcome.

Consequence: A private, written warning from the maintainers, clarifying the nature of the violation and explaining why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.

2. Warning

Impact: A violation through a single incident or a series of actions.

Consequence: A warning with stated consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, for a specified period. This includes avoiding interactions in community spaces as well as external channels. Violating these terms may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.

3. Temporary Ban

Impact: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior.

Consequence: A temporary ban from any interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period. No public or private contact with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, is allowed during this period. Violating these terms may lead to a permanent ban.

4. Permanent Ban

Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward or disparagement of classes of individuals.

Consequence: A permanent ban from any kind of public interaction within the community.
