[Bug] Cannot change brightness of Per-key RGB's General and Breathing effects #427

Describe the Bug

When using the Per-key RGB function, "General" and "Breathing" light effects, the brightness cannot be changed. Other effects (single key response/neighbouring key response/whole keyboard) seem to work fine.

This bug affects my Q3 Max and Q6 max keyboards on latest 1.1.1 firmware, and many other keyboard models (K4 HE, K2 max, K1 max, V1 max, C2 pro 8k), as evidenced by this Reddit thread

Steps to reproduce:

  • Connect keyboard and go to Keychron Launcher > Backlight tab > Per-key RGB
  • Enable Per-key RGB
  • Ensure "General" or "Breathing" effect is selected
  • Try to set brightness using slider and click "Save"

Expected effect: Brightness changes
Actual effect: Brightness does not change

Using the QMK "Br +" and "Br -" keys also does not change the brightness, unless the "Br -" key is pressed at least 14 times which turns off RGB backlight completely.

So it seems like, any brightness setting from 1-255 becomes max brightness.

Could you please fix it so we can vary the brightness of Per-key RGB when using "General" or "Breathing" effects?

Please let me know if you need more information.

Thank you
