Cost control for prompts? #361
-
I issued a simple Ask prompt for specific information and flipped to another window for a few minutes. When I came back, the model had gotten incredibly distracted and was still going, racking up $4.55 in charges before I told it to stop. Is there way to make the AI stop and wait for confirmation before bankrupting me? |

WHOA! Which model was this? I have to assume that it was Sonnet 3.7 given the context length (and cost!) There are a few ideas we have for making this better:

Lets not close this yet @HadesArchitect. We added a way to allow the max requests and that's great but this is not the same as having an actual proper cost control. I think it makes sense to figure out a way to kill requests once a maximum cost is reached. This is independent of setting a maximum dollar vallue that you want to spend per task. |
