For several years now I have the nightly-only formating options commented out in rustfmt.toml but the integration of those features into stable Rust seems to be extremely slow.
Thus I plan to just prescribe nightly rustfmt but we should find a good time to do it when there aren't too many changes to be merged that may create merge conflicts.
