Surgewave Contributor License Agreement

Thank you for your interest in contributing to Surgewave, a project of Kuestenlogik.

To clarify the intellectual property license granted with contributions from any person or entity, Kuestenlogik must have a Contributor License Agreement (CLA) on file that has been signed by each contributor, indicating agreement to the terms below.

This agreement is for your protection as a contributor as well as the protection of Kuestenlogik and its users; it does not change your rights to use your own contributions for any other purpose.

Terms

By signing this CLA, you agree to the following:

  1. Grant of License. You grant Kuestenlogik a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute your contributions and such derivative works under the terms of the Apache License 2.0 (the license currently adopted by the Surgewave core) and, at Kuestenlogik's discretion, under the Business Source License 1.1 in premium-tier repositories (e.g. Surgewave.Ai, Surgewave.Governance, Surgewave.Replication).

  2. Original Work. You represent that each of your contributions is your original creation and that you have the legal right to grant the above license. If your employer has rights to intellectual property that you create, you represent that you have received permission to make the contribution on behalf of that employer, or that your employer has waived such rights.

  3. No Warranty. You provide your contributions on an "AS IS" basis, without warranties or conditions of any kind, either express or implied.

  4. Notification. You agree to notify Kuestenlogik if you become aware of any facts or circumstances that would make the above representations inaccurate.

  5. Premium-Tier Relicensing. You understand that the Surgewave core is licensed under the Apache License 2.0, and that Kuestenlogik may include or relicense your contributions in separate premium-tier repositories under the Business Source License 1.1 (which itself converts to Apache 2.0 five years after each version's release). You waive the right to require any other licensing arrangement for those derivative works.
