The Top Contributors section on the Overview page is overly simplistic and should provide advanced, category-based contributor analytics.
Use Case / Problem
The current Top Contributors view only highlights basic contribution counts, which does not reflect real impact or workload distribution. Teams need deeper insight into how individuals contribute across different dimensions such as delivery, reviews, ownership, and operational load to make informed decisions.
Suggested Solution
Extend Top Contributors with advanced analytics and category-based leaders, such as: delivery contribution, review impact, issue resolution speed, ownership concentration, collaboration index, and consistency over time. Allow switching between categories and time windows, and ensure all metrics are calculated at the project level.
Alternatives Considered
Keeping a single flat contributor ranking, but this oversimplifies performance and hides critical team dynamics.
Additional Context
Contributor analytics should surface imbalances, risks, and strengths in the team. This section should help identify bottlenecks, key maintainers, and overburdened engineers rather than just showing vanity numbers.
