Periferals plugged into monitor usb hub becoming unresponsive after starting daemon

I am using my monitor's usb hub for my keyboard and mouse and after the daemon is started they became practically unusable (keys getting stuck or not registering, mouse laggy). I can even see the rgb turn on and off on the mouse every second. After stopping the daemon the issue goes away. The system is not being overloaded.
The same issue arises with mpvpaper also.
I use arch/hyprland.
