'global' floating layer

Hi all,

I'm starting to get used to the floating layer, and as I'm using it more I wonder if anyone else has had the thought of having a 'global' floating layer accessible from all workspaces. I tend to have a few terminals open when I work and keep different applications in different workspaces, but I end up having to drag the terminal from one to the other. Sometimes I have to drag even PowerPoint as I'm taking screenshots from one place to the next to create something to show... Putting some applications on a 'tray' that I can take to every workspace and bring down as needed sounds kind of useful and similar to the floating layer.

is this like a "scratch pad"? I've heard of that before

yeah. I suppose it could be thought of like a scratch pad that is shared by all workspaces and has floating windows. This to me sounds useful, just not sure if this would be considered separate from the floating layer or a part of it, just having an option to make it global?

I am not familiar with this feature, but might just be what you are looking for. I think it is being considered
