One app at a time

Would there be a way to configure this so that when an app is shown, any apps behind it are minimized. When the app is moved, the apps are returned.

For example: I have word taking up the entire screen. I open chrome and word is minimizes so now chromr takes up the entire screen. I minimize chrome or alt-tab to word and it reappears.

This isn't exactly what you want, but I think you can get close by using

komorebic toggle-monocle to switch in and out of monocle to show a single window on the workspace
komorebic cycle-focus next/previous to switch focus to the next or previous window in workspace, which will take up the whole screen
