ti-84 plus se not connecting? (chromebook)

Now this may just be on chrome but when I try to connect if just flashes the screen then goes back to the "click to connect" screen.

I'm having the same issue, but I'm using a school Chromebook, so that could be part of the problem, and it blocks me from using dev tools. I'm using a ti-84 Plus.

I don't think this is a problem with this software. I have had trouble with connecting other usb devices to my chromebook and I think you may be having a similar problem.

Hello, I seem to have the same problem with the ti-84 plus ce python (pretty much the regular plus ce just with the python app) I do have access to the console and got the errors. Heres a copy of the console:
tivars_lib ready! NotFoundError: Failed to execute 'requestDevice' on 'USB': No device selected. NotFoundError: Failed to execute 'requestDevice' on 'USB': No device selected.

Note

This is from the chrome dev console and it looks like theres a problem with the device selection

This is on a PERSONAL chromebook. some schools have the option to disable usb ports entirely (like mine) as we should all know, if the usb is disabled, theres no connecting your calculator. I recommend checking your security policies. to do this go to chrome://policy and search external and usb. if anything like ExternalStorageDisabled or SerialAllowUsbDevicesForUrls is off, your probally screwed.
even with this, I hope that you look into the requestDevice error.

This has worked for me with the exact same calculator, so here's something to try:

• Turn your calculator off and then back on before connecting it to your computer. (this may be the important part 🤷)
• plug in the calculator
• go through the connection process (press Click Here, select your calculator, then press Connect)

The error you sent here is expected. It appears when the connect calc (slang for calculator) dialog is closed without selecting a calc. (slang for calculator)

If I remember correctly, errors like this one where it hangs happen because in the latealways_patch.js, the implementation for usb transfer is not exactly synchronous but rather asynchronous (because of the webusb api) unlike the synchronous api for platform apps (which the ticonnectce app for chrome os was made for)

Basically, what happened here is that the app sent a request to the calculator and the calculator responded to it faster than the app could open the receive channel. (This is a known issue: #3 )
