macOS application cannot be opened, developer cannot be verified

After downloading Laverna for macOS from the official website and opening the .zip file, the following error message appeared:

"laverna” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.
macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware.

I confirmed in Settings>>Privacy and Security that my system is setup to Allow applications downloaded from App Store and identified developers (rather than just App Store). I am on a company-provided machine and am not shown an option to allow applications from unverified developers. Upon receipt of the error message dialog box, the only dialog box options are Move to Trash and Cancel.

OS: macOS Ventura 13.3.1

@august-the-analyst Go to Applications and locate Laverna. Right-click and select "Open". It will bring up a menu asking if you want to open the app despite the fact that it is not from a verified developer. You only need to do this once, then it will just open like a normal app.
