[Bug]: Spen eraser button still does not work

What happened?

I am aware of the previous issue about the same topic #270 , though I am not sure if the main question I was asking then was answered, or looked into. Here it goes again?

In the app Write by StylusLabs, the spen button seems to work flawlessly, and the whole implementation seems very intuitive with no glitches at all. I am not as aware of the codebase in android, so I tried to ask the question to AI to get some background, and here is the answered question: https://www.perplexity.ai/search/a1220cf5-0c0c-42bf-bfd3-fb1dfa89776c

Again, the resulting answer is also too technical for me. One recent development is that the Write app is now opensource, and so we can perhaps get more insight into how this was implemented there? From the AI answer, it seems like a limitation of flutter than anything else. Given the above new information, can something be done to add this feature now to Butterfly?

My last status was that it works successfully.
Did you try the input test inside the input settings (scroll to the bottom)

I did. When I use the pen in the test, it shows input 1, and when I use the button while the pen is touching I see the input change to 2(10), but that does not seem to be detected. Moreover, the issue that of the button being detected when the pen is hovering and then touched to the screen is still present right? Can that be addressed with the above help maybe?

Butterfly only changes the tool if you pressed the button while starting to touch the display. This is currently the intended behavior but feel free if you want to change it.
The shortcut can be configured in inputs->pen->first

In the pointer test inside settings, I am only able to trigger input 2, when the pen is already touching the screen and then I press the button. But, regardless of how I change the pen inputs, I am not able to trigger any other tool in the document. Something that would make it much more intuitive is to recognize when the button is pressed and then the pen touches the screen. This is because, I would never switch the pen to an eraser in the middle of my writing stroke, I will definitely break my writing stroke and then initiate an eraser. Don't you think that makes more sense?
