It actually might be better for it to match the day of recording? spikegadgets_to_nwb is looking for something in the format {date}_{animal}.yml where date is 20230927 for example.

@edeno That is a great idea. But, I do not have access to the recording date. I am hesitant to add a field to for it in the generator as people would be confused when it does not appear in the resultant yaml. Is that concern unfound?
