Generate with an empty prompt (BOS-only)?

I have trained a research model which just generates text, without a prompt or special inference start.

In the KoboldCpp WebUI, is there a way to start generation from a completely empty prompt (i.e. BOS-only, no user text), and also without any hidden prompt injection (templates / memory / author’s note / world info)?

Yes, switch to a new session and paste your prompt in Story Mode. It should be just the raw prompt.

Thanks, that almost works.
The only remaining issue is that I still have to enter at least one character.

But I found a workaround: enable “Allow Editing” (in Story mode).
Then I can press Submit with truly empty input.
The model will generate a random story without any guidance, which is exactly what I wanted to achieve.

I’ll document this in the README when I publish the model.

Just a technical note:
When I do this (empty prompt), I see a leading blank/space as the first character in the story output.
I’m not sure whether that space comes from the prompt/UI or from another source, but the generated text looks fine.
