Manual Upgrade Path for non-docker users

Hi all. I have Lychee installed on a cpanel server via Softaculous. I'm hoping that in the future there will be instructions for a manual upgrade/migration path from 6.X to 7. I'm aware that 7 has just been released and there may be documentation coming, but checking to see if that is indeed in the works or at least on the radar. Thanks!!!

The manual upgrade is pretty much the same as usual. The biggest difference is for the users of the docker image. :)

Regarding the manual upgrade from 6 to 7: I'm not on docker, have to do it manually (host is all-inkl.com) - I had quite some trouble with some older manual updates and left the Lychee environment afterwards. Just returned a few days ago with 6.9.2 which is the current default release by all-inkl.com.

Any instruction for the manual update are highly appreciated by me as well :-)

First and foremost, make sure that you are running php8.4.
I would suggest to first do a database backup & upload folder.
Download the zip,
Rename your Lychee to Lychee-bck
Extract the zip to Lychee.
Replace the upload folder in public with the one from Lychee-bck
Replace the .env file with the one from Lychee-bck

And you should be good to go, it will ask you to make a migration (which you can do with php artisan migrate) and you should be good to go.

Thank you for the answer. Unfortunately I have no idea how I can perform php artisan migrate on my webspace at all-inkl.com. Anybody around who can help me with that?

This is what the hoster is offering: https://all-inkl.com/en/support/faq/#datenbankverwaltung - for backup they offer just phpAdmin ... seems I have reached already the end of the road again.

The docker update seems even more complicated. Is there any plan for a supported update path in the future?

Not recommended, but you can create a small script run-migration.php and put it in your public folder:

You can then access it via example.com/run-migration.php and it should be running it for you.
Note that this is a very insecure way of doing it and absolutely not recommended.
Delete the file once done.

Thank you again for the quick answer. No clue what to do with it. I'm not a developer, just a user with some basic development understanding. I really like Lychee, but it unfortunately seems not really maintainable for a normal user with a standard webspace and a lack or development skills. I will follow the development, but I think I'm out again here.
