Description
NTSC is on our roadmap. But I wondered why we should do it at all. I asked this question in Discord:
I have to admit, we've always ignored NTSC, since we're Europeans and grew up experiencing the C64 in PAL mode. And honestly, around 99.98% of demos and about 95% of the games available online are PAL anyway.
That said—I'm genuinely curious: is there a specific reason why NTSC support is important for the core?
Please don't get me wrong—I'm asking this out of real, sincere interest. Understanding this would help us prioritize features for the upcoming(#) V6 release of the core more effectively.
And to the community (i.e. also @dddaaannn 's comment) about disks, disk drive handling, etc. we hear you loud and clear and agree.
(#) "Upcoming" as in "in a year or so" - V5.2 is super stable, and for the brave ones of you, the experimental V52A2E4 adds additional hardware cartridge compatibility such as IDE64
