MF6 transient idomain

Hey,

I am wondering if MF6 idomain can be transient?, similar to what TIB can do for USG-T.

if not, are there any plans to support something like this?

Hi @roh-sgm , the short answer is no, it's not possible. And supporting this is not in the current scope of development. Not saying it's impossible (after all, we are engineers, so we can design all sorts of Frankensteins ;-)) but I feel it will be quite a complicated refactoring of the codebase.

Could you explain in a sentence or two what you would like to use this functionality for? (I am not familiar with TIB to be honest)

With the USG-T's TIB package, we can deactivate or activate parts of the model domain over time. This feature allows for a more robust simulation of excavations or material stacking, particularly for my applications. I had hoped the MF6 idomain could be varied transiently to achieve a similar outcome.
