Installation issue

I am trying to use Essentia inside a Docker container for a project but I'm having trouble doing so. I tried following the instructions here. This is my Dockerfile:

    && apt-get -y install build-essential libyaml-dev libfftw3-dev libavcodec-dev libavformat-dev libavutil-dev libsamplerate0-dev libtag1-dev libchromaprint-dev python-six python3-dev python3-numpy-dev python3-numpy python3-yaml libeigen3-dev \
    && python3 waf configure --build-static --with-python --with-tensorflow \
    && python3 waf && python3 waf install

CMD ["python3", "app.py"]

Here are the contents of app.py:

It builds just fine but when I try to run it afterward, it gives me this:

  File "//app.py", line 6, in <module>
    import essentia.standard
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'essentia.standard'

I am currently on a M1 Mac. Container uses Ubuntu 22.04 as base.

I think sticking the output of your docker build here will also help.

But, I will try to build it.

I can see the same problem too.

It looks like most of the packages are installed to /usr/local/lib/python3.10/dist-packages

Where as essentia is installed in /usr/local/lib/python3/dist-packages

I'm not sure if this is the problem.

My container's python's sys.path is now showing that dir:

root@2b2fb5565012:/# python3

So, I think this is an installation problem.

With the --pythondir parameter in this line, I can see essentia being installed in the proper location:

    && python3 waf configure --build-static --with-python --with-tensorflow --pythondir=/usr/local/lib/python3.10/dist-packages \

But, now when I run the app I get an unresolved symbol:

which I suspect is a TenforFlow function?

So, if I build without the --with-tensorflow in this line:

&& python3 waf configure --build-static --with-python --with-tensorflow \

I can see the app importing and running correctly.

So, there's some problem with the TensorFlow setup. We can create another issue for it.
