This appears to be new since 7.0, we don't currently support it but I think that's a great RFE

Is that a feature of vmware's customization spec itself, or would we need to pre-process the spec ourselves? nvm - I see you answered that in the discussion - I'll copy that to the OP

Yeah the user could create a VMware CustomizationSpec with that script already and we would just use that, the question was about overriding things in a customizationspec which we don't have currently.

Hello, i see that improvement is in the backlog roadmap...
So it is not possible today to use a VMWare CustomizationLinuxPrep script ?
I did the test, configuring the miq task with an existing VMWare CustomizationLinuxPrep containing a bash script, but the script is not executed on the vm even if the custom spec runs...
@Fryguy , @agrare Is there any way to workaround before we have the new feature ?
Do you have any idea regarding the timeline ?
