How to delete torrents if deleted from Radarr/Sonarr

In V2, what options must I set such that when a movie, show, or episode is deleted from Radarr or Sonarr, that the torrent is removed/deleted including the downloaded files?
Nothing I have tried thus far works sadly.
I am using Deluge.

Sadly this is not working - it is what I expected to work. I tried as env-var and via yaml config, it worked once or twice randomly but not consistently.

If this is the option that should work, what debugging information would help you resolve this (now) issue please?

Show me a screenshot pls from your arr queue and your deluge, and mark the items you‘d expect decluttarr to pick up.

Sorry for the slow response, I was hoping to delete a series with active torrents.
The situation I have ATM is rather typical:

• No actively downloading torrents, so /queue is empty
• The torrents are still in a seeding state
• The files are hard linked to their final destination
  In this case when I delete a movie or series the destination files are deleted and I am counting on Decluttarr to remove the seeding torrents so as to finally free up the disk space.

Decluttr does note the deleting of the files:

I'm not entirely following what the issue is / how it arises / what you aim to do.

Is the following correct?
You are downloading a torrent via deluge, and the torrent shows up in radarr
Once the torrent completes and continues to seed, radarr imports the file and hence the queue is empty, but the file is still in deluge
You don't want to seed after completion, and hence are asking why decluttarr isn't removing this torrent?

If above is correct, are you already asking radarr via your radarr/deluge settings to remove the torrent once completed from the download client?

This is not quite the situation, I would put it as:

• Media is requested/tracked in Radarr or Sonarr
• When appropriate torrent is found it is sent to Deluge to download
• Deluge downloads it (If Decluttr doesn't reject it first for various reasons) to the torrent path
• Radarr/Sonarr imports the files hard linking them to the media paths
• Deluge continues to seed the torrent (until ratio met of forever)
• The media is deleted from Radarr/Sonarr and the files removed - the linked files in the media path
• I am expecting Decluttarr to delete the seeding and/or downloading torrents for media which is removed from Radarr/Sonarr

I hope this clarifies things, sorry that it has been unclear

Once radarr has imported/hardlinked, is it correct that your queue no longer shows the downloads that are now being seeded in deluge?

That is correct. 🤞the torrent/media relationship is stored somewhere in Radarr/Sonarr so this service can remain stateless to support this functionality.

Correct me if I'm wrong: I think what you're asking for is impossible :)

You are using hardlinks, and as I understand them, files as they are respresented in the file system (ie., your linux, windows, or whatever you use), point to "inodes" where the files are actually stored. When you use hardlinks, it essentially means that you can delete the file on the OS, but the file on the inode is only removed once the last file on the OS is removed.

The files don't really have knowledge about one another; so your deluge doesn't know that radarr is also using a clone of the file in the media path. That is by design, so that your media-lifecycle is entirely detached from your downloader lifecycle.

You can watch a movie, delete it, but continue to seed. Or you can stop seed, but keep the movie until you've watched it, and then only delete it.

If you ask me, the proper way to do this is to delete in deluge the torrent once it's seed targets are met; this may be before or after the same file is removed from radarr.

I am not familiar with deluge, but I suppose there's a possibiliy to define how long you want to seed. And there may be other apps that may help you to remove those items from deluge that are no longer seeding (not sure though).

Not for deluge but for Qbittorrent, #290 goes in to a similiar direction, where decluttarr would remove those items from qbit that have finished seeding.

I'm not planning to add a similar feature as the above PR for deluge, but of course, happy to review a PR in case you'd like to add deluge support.

With qBittorrent this is possible using qbit_manage, not sure if a similar tool exists for deluge.

Thank you @dcblanik , I'll setup qBittorrent and give it a go. Are there any particular settings I should be aware of to ensure that it works well with decluttarr (and Yarr). Sounds like the result of this thread is use qBittorrent 😄 - I will modify the OP to reflect this and close on confirmation.

I only use qbit_manage to tag those torrents that have no extra hardlinks and delete them manually from time to time, but it can also be set up to delete them automatically based on some rules. In your case, since the *arrs have no memory of these torrents anymore, it should not interfere with decluttarr. That's my guess at least.
