Blur no longer works on 25H2

My PC updated overnight and the actual blur component itself no longer works.

I'm aware of the border transparency issues Windhawk can cause but I wasn't experiencing them before this update, and I'm not using any mods that would ALSO affect the titlebar and/or dwm's ability to make my taskbar transparent.

I've repeatedly re-installed everything, changed the blur settings, deleted and re-installed symbol files etc, nothing has worked.

The effects worked correctly until I installed the latest update to Win11 25H2 (KB5068861). Interestingly, this bug seems to only affect standard titlebars. Custom titlebars or apps with transparent background such as the header of explorer.exe, powertoys run etc. have their transparency effects applied correctly.

Notice how the MC launcher, SystemInformer and Winver, which use the default titlebar, aren't blurred, but Windows Exporer, task manager and Powertoys run, which all handle the window layout including titlebar in a custom way are properly blurred.

Same thing now happening for me. For me, it works on explorer, snipping tool and winver, but not on audacity, sdrsharp, windows media player etc.

Blur also broke for me after installing KB5068861 (26100.7171) yesterday. I do not have the 25H2 update installed.

Are you talking about the UX theme itself? I used Aero11, which is also on GitHub.

Just like @SomeDudex64 I can confirm updating 24H2 to 26100.7171 breaks blur partially. Everything with a custom titlebar works fine but "normal" window titlebars are transparent.

I rolled back KB5068861, and now my effects are working again. I am going to pause updates for a month and then check again.

Try this temporary solution; it's not the same, but you can adjust the blur intensity from DWMBlurGlass:

Been trying this for months, only actually worked once, and it ruined my explorer UI... for some reason it was messing around with my brightness settings.

Starting to lose patience with DWMBlurGlass as well. Think I'm gonna switch over to OpenGlass when it gets patched for 25h2, it feels like Maplespe just doesn't care anymore.
