python setup.py build
sudo python setup.py install 
# some locations were not right
sudo ln -s /usr/local/lib/python3.10/dist-packages/Sunflower-0.6.64-py3.10.egg/share/sunflower /usr/share
# change icon location in .desktop file
# /usr/local/lib/python3.10/dist-packages/Sunflower-0.6.64-py3.10.egg/share/sunflower/images
sudo ln -s /usr/local/lib/python3.10/dist-packages/Sunflower-0.6.64-py3.10.egg/share/applications/Sunflower.desktop /usr/share/applications/

The program launches but still this x2 year old bug persists #507
I am using cifs mounted NTFS drive
