[Bug]: Unable to do a erc20 approve for USDC on Base

Describe the bug

The erc20 approve confirmation never loads when you try to do an approve for USDC on Base.

Update: the issue only happens when using https://mainnet.base.org. The issue does not happen when using Infura.

Expected behavior

Confirmation fully loads and user can proceed with it.

2. Connect your wallet
3. Go to approve
4. Input an address and an amount
5. Click "Write"
6. See how the confirmation never loads
