Description: I don’t think we need to show the mobile nav while someone is using search. It takes up a lot of screen space and cuts off results at the bottom. In this context, users are focused on search, so the nav probably isn’t necessary.

Associated work: Since we already have a back arrow in the header to close the browser, showing the bottom nav feels redundant and probably unnecessary.

Summary

I've implemented the fix for the UI/UX improvement to hide the navigation bar when using the search feature in the Explore screen.

🔍 Analysis

• Root Cause: The bottom navigation bar remained visible when users navigated to the ExploreSearchScreen, taking up valuable screen space and cutting off search results
• Scope: Modified app/components/Nav/Main/MainNavigator.js

💡 Proposed Fix

Added a condition in the renderTabBar function within HomeTabs to detect when the user is on the Explore search screen and hide the tab bar:

    // Hide tab bar when on Explore search screen
    const isInExploreSearch = currentStackRouteName === Routes.EXPLORE_SEARCH;
    if (isInExploreSearch) {
      return null;
    }

This follows the existing pattern used for hiding the tab bar in browser fullscreen mode and rewards onboarding screens.

✅ Verification Plan

• Reproduction Steps:

  1. Open the app and tap "Explore" tab
  2. Tap "View All" on Trending Tokens
  3. Use the search feature
  4. Observe the nav bar is now hidden

• Success Criteria:

  • Tab bar hidden when on search screen (more screen space for results)
  • Tab bar visible on main Explore feed
  • Tab bar visible on other tabs
  • Back navigation still works via header back arrow
