Consistent(?) Crash after Omega Pirate #1

Don't know if this falls under the known issues, but figured the report might help debug. Best guess is that it crashes if you beat the OP immediately after coming from the previous room in its initial layer. No idea if one cycles have anything to do with it.

Nintendont Version: 5.486
Physical media: SD HC 32GB U3

CRASH - Coming from upper mine, saved at PB pickup, went straight to Omega Pirate, one-cycled him, crashed as item pickup message spawned.
CRASH - Coming from PB pickup save, saved at Omega Pirate, went to Omega Pirate, one-cycled him, crashed as item pickup message spawned.
NO CRASH - Coming Omega Pirate save, went to Omega Pirate, one-cycled him, did not crash.
