The previews area can currently only showcases what the lossless graphic would look like at various sizes. Being able to showcase lossy formats too would be nice.
What I envision is removing the background color config and adding a "Preview config" button up top on one of the sides. It would popup a widget with a "Lossless" checkbox up top and export data on the bottom. If the checkbox is toggled on, a lossless format (PNG/WebP/DDS? Whichever is optimal) would be used in secret, and the settings below would only include a background color. If toggled off, it shows a format dropdown with JPG (default) and WebP. Both of these would have a quality and a background color config, and WebP's lossless option would be hidden, as would all formats' export scale configs.
This could become more relevant in the future, if the PR for .pdc format support gets merged.
