Porting to D-robotics RDK X5 sbc board

Is it possible to support, or what image do you suggest for testing, the SBC RDK X5 which has 8x A55@1.5GHz? It would be an excellent combination with DietPi.

Theoretically yes, practically it does not look good:

• At best we'd need mainline Linux (and U-Boot) support. But I cannot find a matching device tree, none with this Sunrise 5 chip: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/tree/arch/arm64/boot/dts/
• Their own Linux sources are 4.14, too old to run any recent distro, and also there I cannot find the device tree for this X5 SBC or SoC: https://github.com/D-Robotics/kernel/tree/develop/arch/arm64/boot/dts
• U-Boot sources likewise ancient v2018.09
• In the SBC-specific build repo it says hobot_x5_rdk_ubuntu_defconfig, even in the docs repo this is mentioned, but it does not exist in any branch or tag or their kernel repo (or anywhere else in the orga's repos), if I am not blind.

Sadly, to me looks like a dead end, like sadly almost all those "small" (less known) SBC manufacturers. You can use it with their official images, after 2-3 years it becomes a security risk and gets abused by malicious actors for DDoS attacks etc, if connected to the Internet, and then you can throw it to the bin 🙄.

Maybe I overlooked something, tell me if you find proper sources for kernel and bootloader.

Thanks for your help. According to some comments on their Discord, they're writing a lot of their code. I'll let you know.
