Just opening this up here. To have a place to talk about it.
My main note about wanting to use a logger system instead of System.out directly was for things like automated logging to a file and console like we do in the installer by wrapping the System.out stream.

Is there any reason this project is homebrewing the api instead of using the Logger api?

I've been brewing this API and trying to keep it as small as possible so that I don't need to worry about the other bells and whistles that come with Java's own Logger API. It's essentially a wrapper on top of System.out and allows for delaying log messages (capturing) in case they do not need to be printed.

Well, my intention was file logging and possible generic filtering (info by default debug with --debug argument!)
So mark as a TODO

MCMaven has a --debug flag, and setting the log level using this is this:

Log.enabled = Log.Level.DEBUG

Any log messages with level lower than the enabled log are trashed.
