Redmi Note 12 T Pro cannot install old Settings.apk when meeting error 10000| 红米Note 12T Pro报错10000且无法安装旧版Settings.apk (-2) #316
Description
At the beginning, I encountered error 10000, and I could not find any System Settings APK for my device (Redmi Note12T Pro) in the provided cloud drive.
I then tried downloading the 1.0.1.0 recovery ROM for my model from the XiaomiROM site (https://xiaomirom.com/), because the lowest available fastboot ROM is version 1.0.2.0, which I noticed was reported as ineffective in previous issues. My goal was to extract the system.img file and obtain the Settings APK from it.
Following the usual procedure, I placed the APK in the system directory and opened it using the system file manager. I used the built-in official installer to install it. The installer was able to recognize the application name, but after pressing the install button, it showed the error:
“The installation package is corrupted, please download it again (-2).”
I believe my process is correct, but I still cannot install the APK. I am going to try installing it using InstallerX to rule out possible system restriction issues. If it works, I will reply to this issue with an update.
