Right now, provided GUIDs are used, with URLs as a fallback.
This works in almost all cases. However, it doesn't work for certain feeds where the same link is repeated with different news items. I've seen this with:
- Podcasts (the mp3 link isn't the "page" link)
- Software updates (same download link)
For these cases, there should be a secondary GUID method available. When the feed is first added, if the GUIDs are not unique, the feed should go into this mode and use the secondary GUIDs from then on.
