Technically it needs some computer to run, but it must not be (and for 24/7 it's not recommended to use) your own machine. It's designed to run almost anywhere (except for the GUI), but it requires some more or less deep technical understanding setting it up on a remote server. Personally I did run it on a Raspberry Pi, but there are almost certainly free cloud alternatives as well (e.g. Oracle Cloud), but as mentioned before it will require quite some deep technical understanding setting up a cloud instance and hosting it on a remote linux machine. |
