"hermes" is something else en AUR

There is something else in AUR by the name of "hermes": https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/hermes. This means that any AUR helper will try to upgrade hermes to that other package. Maybe use a different ArchLinux package name?

Thank you very much for reporting this. You are absolutely right — I reproduced the issue with both yay and paru, which currently offer the unrelated AUR package as an upgrade.
A fix has been prepared that renames the Arch/CachyOS package to hermes-streaming. The application itself will remain Hermes, and paths such as /usr/bin/hermes, /usr/share/hermes, the systemd user service, and user configuration will remain unchanged.
The new package conflicts with the unrelated hermes package and includes a controlled replacement only for legacy Hermes streaming packages below version 0.5.0.
Until the renamed package is published, Arch users should reject or ignore any hermes update offered by an AUR helper:
yay -Syu --ignore hermes
I’ll keep this issue open until the renamed package is available and the old Arch release assets have been handled.

Status update: the package rename has now been pushed to main in commit e3345b5. The Arch package is now named hermes-streaming, while the Hermes executable, service, assets, and user configuration paths remain unchanged.

I am keeping this issue open until the current CI run publishes the renamed nightly package and the old Arch package asset from v0.4.0 has been handled.

I don't have anything published on the AUR. However, starting with version 0.5.0, the Arch/CachyOS package will be named hermes-streaming instead of hermes to avoid a naming collision with another package
