Configuration of Multichain.conf

Hello,

I'm attempting to configure Multichain.conf according to instructions throws the following error:

sudo echo "rpcport=2672" >> multichain.conf
bash: multichain.conf: Permission denied

I'm running terminal on Ubuntu. I'm a beginner so please explain in detail clearly what to do. Thanks!
