The LIS team has migrated the location of questions and discussions from Modeling Guru over to a "Discussions" tab on GitHub.
Please use: https://github.com/NASA-LIS/LISF/discussions
First, please use the box in the upper left to "Search all discussions". Your question may already be answered!
Please also search on Modeling Guru for an answer to your question before opening a "New Discussion" on GitHub: https://modelingguru.nasa.gov/community/atmospheric/lis
If you don't find an answer to your question, you can click on the green "New discussion" box in the upper right.
This screenshot shows the location of the "Search" and "New" discussion boxes:
The LIS team is working with the Modeling Guru administrators to transfer the archive of questions/answers/discussions from the Modeling Guru site. This post will be updated after the migration of Modeling Guru discussions has been completed (or if it will not be possible).
Contribution and discussion guidelines are also being developed by the LIS team. This post will be updated once they are available.
External LIS users should first search/start a "Discussion" before attempting to list an "Issue" or submit a "Pull Request".
When opening a discussion, please choose the best category: https://github.com/NASA-LIS/LISF/discussions/categories
Most questions should use the "Q & A" category.
The general guideline for using "Discussions", "Issues", and "Pull Requests" is:
Hey, I’m having this problem - Or - How do I do this?
-------> First, search Discussions. If your answer is not found - Open up a Discussion
OK, after some discussion with the LIS team, it's been determined that something is not right in the code, and should be fixed:
-------> Open up an Issue
Hey, I have a fix for an issue:
-------> Open up a Pull Request
