Alfred's advice:
The camera has 2560x2160 pixels. The solar diameter will be about 1754 pixels. The diffuser is approximately gaussian with a FWHM of 0.25 degrees on-sky, or about 818 pixels.
I’d suggest making a set of fake flat field observations using just a uniform circle blurred with the gaussian, displaced known amounts, and then apply a fake flat field. Not sure how I’d go about making the fake flat field, but probably I’d use some kind of 1/f power spectrum with random phases to fill an image. I’d leave the dark out of it for the moment. Probably no noise either just to get started. I can help fill in the parameters you need to add more realism if you can let me know what you need to know.
