As we have played around with LEO for a bit, we came up with some features that we think are missing:
-
At least for a reference/demo instance, could we add an omero to be configured by the user on the login page?
As folks might want to try it out, but don't have access to the OMEROs defined in the config, so they could maybe select a generic "other OMERO instance" point and then give their own server address.
-
Will there be, or maybe are there already, other ELN plugins available? If they all call the API with the same commands, maybe those could be standardized/modularized?
-
The annotations that get queried from OMERO for the linked data, should be extended to Tags and maybe Descriptions as well, as a good percentage of OMERO users utilized these as their preferred form of metadata.
-
Last, and maybe most important, now that the things are connected in LEO, is there something more we can feed back into the OMEROs or ELNs?
Synchronize metadata maybe, from one to the other? Because, otherwise it is just another platform that the users have to engage with. More features that would sync the two data-providers would benefit the end-users a lot more.
