Generating Exam Questions?

Hi @lea-33,

would it be possible to build a chatbot that is fed with the textual description of a selection of slides and generates exam questions about the slides? Such a chatbot might be useful for both: students practicing for an exam, and also the lecturer writing the exam.

that's a nice idea! What exactely do you have in mind when talking about "selection of slides"? Based on their embedding or just all slides that belong to a specific PDF?
And do you think it is best to feed it with the textual description rather than just the slides itself as 'images' ? While Comparing the different VLMs it looked like they are quite good in capturing the content of the Slides.

I think we could start with a manual selection of slides, where we thinkngenerating exam questions from might be easy. And I also guess that VLMs might be good for this. Or we need a two-step approach: 1) VLM turns slide into text and 2) LLM turns text into question [+ answer]
