Right now small headwater reference flowpaths without divides automatically gets classified as virtual, non-nextgen and so can't be merged into a nextgen flowpath according to the current tracing rules. For headwater VFP's with a single downstream flowpath that meets the flowpath directly at a node instead of intersecting this means a merger doesn't happen when it would make sense to merge.
In the example below, a short virtual flowpath (240 meters) hits a flowpath at a virtual nexus with no other tributaries. In such cases, the virtual flowpath should be merged with the downstream flowpath to create a longer flowpath with no virtual flowpath.
