I just tested this https://github.com/pashazz/ksetwallpaper

Seems to work. I would guess the path of least resistance would be to just take that python script and drop it into the bin folder. Or swipe the call to dbus from that script.

It uses dbus. which should be installed on any machine and apparently the dbus python modules is also installed. That said, it does have dbus and python3-dbus as prereqs.

I think we should try and swipe the dbus out of the python. The system python is so spotty it becomes a nightmare for these type of things. I think we can just add it to the script along with the Gnome, XFCE
