Tests in Morocco

Hi all,

Within few days we will receive the boards and the needed components.

As you may already know, I set up a company so I can work on what I love. For the moments the team is made of:

• 2 software engineers
• Me (Electronics Engineer)
  And I still need 1 FPGA engineer and a Mechanical engineer.

I’m saying this because the assembly and the tests would be performed in a nice house in Morocco and I want to invite (flight ticket, housing, expenses) people that can add value to the project. @JJassonn69 @joyshmitz @

Hi Nawfal — thanks for the invitation, and serious congrats on getting to board-and-components stage. That's the step where the project becomes real, and I know how much work it took to get there.

For this cycle, traveling to Morocco isn't workable for me — family responsibilities at home keep me close right now. I'd hate to just drop out of the loop, though. What I can offer remotely:

• async FPGA bring-up review (RTL behavior on real hardware vs sim)
• testbench / smoke test discipline as you bring boards up
• bring-up log and capture analysis with cosim against tb_cross_layer_ft2232h.v

Protocol-wise: usual GitHub PR / issue flow — I'm putting solid hours into this most days, so async turnaround is fast (same-day on weekdays). Not stepping out of the loop, and I won't be the bottleneck.

Congratulations on reaching hardware stage — this is where the project becomes real.

I work in counter-UAS / anti-drone systems development. When I found PLFM_RADAR I immediately saw the fit — a phased-array FMCW radar with coherent Doppler processing is exactly what
airborne threat detection needs, and your architecture is solid.

What I bring:

My background is drone and VTOL systems — ROS2, PX4, and integration stacks. I can bridge PLFM_RADAR into those ecosystems: publish detections as ROS2 PointCloud2, feed a PX4-based
ground station, or wire into a counter-UAS engagement pipeline. This benefits both sides — your radar gets real-world validation against airborne targets, and my platform gets a
capable sensor it doesn't have today.

What I can commit to (remote, weekends):

• Firmware bring-up support: STM32 peripherals, AGC tuning, per-channel calibration
• USB protocol validation against live captures
• ROS2 bridge node (plfm_radar_bridge) connecting PLFM_RADAR → ROS2 → PX4 / counter-UAS stack
• Testing against real drone targets once hardware is up

Travel to Morocco isn't possible for me. If you share logs and captures mid-week, analysis comes back the following weekend.

I think this makes the project more useful for society — a low-cost open phased-array radar for airborne threat detection is something the world genuinely needs.
